Details for May 2013 Meeting

As a follow-up to my “Save the Date” email below, I wanted to provide you with some more information on our upcoming gathering at UC Riverside on Thursday, May 9th and request that you kindly RSVP to this email by end of day, Wednesday May 1st, so that we may better plan for your arrival and accommodate any dietary restrictions or other needs you may have.


The format will be a series of Ombuds-oriented discussions. The agenda is still being finalized. So if there are topics you would particularly like to discuss, please let me know. Our meeting time is scheduled to begin with a light breakfast and introductions at 8:30 AM. We will get down to business by 9AM and will conclude at 2:30 PM. There is no fee to attend and breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as a light snack in the afternoon. (The room will be open and breakfast setup at 8:00 AM, so early arrivals can come on in and get something to eat.)

A couple locations on campus have been reserved, but the location will not be finalized until we have a firmer sense of numbers in early May, at which point you will receive an email that will include a map of the UCR campus, and directions to the exact building and room number of our meeting as well as the designated parking lot. Depending upon the lot, visitor parking will cost about $6-$8 for the day. Permit reciprocity is available to staff from other UCs.

We are planning what we hope is a full, active and exciting day! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday May 9, and to receiving your RSVP by May 1st.
