Los Angeles Appoints Interim Ombuds

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors appointed Stephanie Maxberry as acting head of Department of Ombudsman. Maxberry, a 25-year county employee who has been with the department since its creation in 1993, takes over from John Fernandes, who was appointed to a senior post with the county CEO's office last month. The LA County Department of Ombudsman was created to serve as an impartial forum for people who have complaints about other county departments. (Contra Costa Times.)
